Last February, a meeting with the elderly home “Virgen del Pilar” (with which we had already worked) took place. The objective of the meeting was to show the platform functionalities and objectives and be aware of the real potential that the platform could have after its implementation.
During the meeting, the REVITA project was presented, with the aim of figuring out which features could be interesting for them, we showed them the working of the platform and we defined a list of uses cases based on their needs and with the purpose of demonstrating the benefits of the platform. As a result, we received a great feedback from the elderly home and the collection of some guidelines to achieve the maximum adjustment to the actual needs of the final users.
Last 23rd of February, HI iberia presented at Mobile World Congress 2016 some of its projects and products in e-health that are considered as innovation products for elderlys and also for caregivers.
Among the projects developed by HI-Iberia, REVITA was presented as a solution for providing care in the distance offering personalized care during all day by means of a caregiver or of a virtual caregiver.
In July 2015 the REVITA project was launched by HI iberia. The project is funded by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism in the framework of Strategic Action of Economy and Digital Society. It is a platform that offers specialised and personalized eldercare at a distance. This is possible through the collection of specific information from the elderly and the continuous interaction with caregivers by means of a remote virtual desktop. Furthermore, the platform provides a virtual caregiver service to support and cover the user needs when the actual caregiver is not available.
The first step consisted on determine the scope of the project through the specific definition of the services and functionalities of the platform, as well as the interaction between final users (elderly people and caregivers). Then, a study of the state of the art was carried out in order to gain a deep knowledge of the starting point to implement the platform (in particular in the area related to the natural language processing, which will be needed for the virtual caregiver).
